This is kinda sad.  According to their website, they didn't have enough interest to fill the 6 seats  it took to create a minimum executive at their November election meeting so they've suspended all activities.

There had been a decent bit of bickering among the members and past execs as well as within the exec itself sometimes, so I wonder how that has affected the club...maybe it was a big part of the reason it's suspended now.

I had some great times with my parrot when we went.  It was one of the first things I did when I moved to Ottawa...take my little buddy to a meeting and join.  At some point though I decided to stop taking him, it just wasn't the same so I stopped going.

Edit: It had been running for 30+ years...

Wow..  well that certainly explains a lot.  I've been given an e-mail address a while back for their membership coordinator so that we could check the club out when I got my first pair of lovebirds, and nobody ever responded.  I'd never looked to see if they had a website or anything though. :(

I got the same email.  I went to their website and they're not "back".  They don't have enough executive to run the club, so they're just holding monthly social gatherings until they can decide what to do about the club.

I was thinking about going to the next social but I started to get the sniffles knowing how many people would be asking me about my bird.  HOw many times can I tell the story before I cry? Maybe once. :-\

I received an email a few weeks ago that they are back.

Their website comes up, but the membership form is crossed out.  Maybe they're limping along and hoping to catch a break..?
