I'm taking down my 108G planted tank.  The eco-complete has been in the tank for about 5 years.  Is there any point in offering it for sale or has it's "shelf life" expired by now?

I'm pretty sure the selling-feature on the eco-complete is the two grades included in it.... the small stuff to sink to the bottom and aid in rooting, and the bigger stuff that goes to the top and allows the crown of the plant to breathe. It comes with live bacteria in the bag but I'm pretty sure that's just an added bonus, yours will have live bacteria in it anyways just from being in an established tank.

Should still be good stuff!

I recall a discussion a few years back along these lines. I think someone said there is a live cycle to the flourite and eco-complete substrates. A short cut would be post directly to SeaChem. I posted there regarding Prime a few years back they replied right away. Is it seaChem who makes it or CaribSea? Either way beat they would both reply.

Seachem makes Flourite and Carib-Sea makes Eco-complete. They're two different companies.
