I'm considering trying out one of these filters (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=18381).

Has anyone tried one, and if so, can you please share your experience or thoughts?

Thanks,
Peter

For a fw or sw tank?

If its for sw dont bother with a wet/dry. Save you money and get a good skimmer.

Yes, for a SW setup.  I am also looking at skimmers... either the AquaC Remora or the Octopus BH-100.  It's for a 29 gallon which currently has a Marineland Eclipse 3 canopy.  From what I've read, the canopy has a lot of issues (although I've used it for over 10 years for freshwater with no incident).

I've read a lot of mixed reviews about this canopy and it's filtration/bio-wheel abilities (or lack there-of) with regards to SW, so I'm investigating my options.  I don't have the room for a sump, so I am trying to find out what alternatives there are.

Next will be trying to upgrade my lighting.  But for now I would like to upgrade my filtration and this SubCurrent filter looked interesting because it has a clean simple appearance.

So if I were to get skimmer, would my current Eclipse lid filtration suffice?  I would have to mod the canopy (as I have read other people doing), because the access ports on the back would have to be enlarged to accommodate the skimmer.

I will eventually stop using this canopy to allow better lighting, but for now it's all I have to work with.

Thanks for your advice.
Peter
