So I need to hang my lights for my new tank. I do not want to put holes in my ceiling, and I do not want to attach it to the wall. I'd like to attach it to the back of the tank stand.

Would anyone have tips or links to some simple projects to get it done? I keep thinking about wood, but there has to be some place that sells some long bent metal or something to make it work in a much better way.

I think Errol (Charlie) has some bent metal rods (http://ovas.ca/forum/index.php?action=classifieds;sa=view;id=1123) he used to hang lights in the classifieds. Another option is building a shelf ontop of your stand:

_______________
|   :__Light __:    |
|                         |
|--------------------|
|     AQUARIUM

You could also try googling up "conduit light bar" or something along those lines.

ended up building one that I think will work for 15$. It isn't the prettiest light stand, but people should really be looking at the fish, and not the light stand lol. I was kinda inspired by Errol and went to my local HD and while I was walking up and down the aisles I found some piping that should easily hold the weight.
