Clever DIY CO2

This post dates a little while back but just found it. In case it hasn't been posted yet, check out this guy's idea to store some of the CO2 generated at night time when the system is off.

I do NOT recommend that. My experience with yeast based generators is to keep it as simple as possible or else you can have a huge disaster/mess to clean up.

I'm planning to use a simple 2L bottle and a smaller bottle (for bubble counter and gas seperation) combined with a couple of check valves.

I just though it was a clever idea but personally I'd probably go with a pressurized system before doing that. I've made gallons and gallons of wine in the past and experienced my fair share of messes. A memorable one was a batch of coffee wine I was making (delicious btw) and coming home to a counter full of sticky foamy coffee smelling goo  :o
