Is there any need to replace bio-balls or ceramic rings in your canister filter?  Also are there any benefits?  Thanks.

Nope. Only the LFS will benefit from that. Just rinse out the dirt and put it back in.

the only time you need to replace is if you find a broken one...I find that some brands of ceramics break down faster than others....I take out the super broken ones and add a handful of fresh to the mix

Same with sponges....don't toss them out until they fall apart!
