Mag Pumps

Do mag pumps suck water in and push out?

im looking to place a mag pump behind my tank for fluidizing reactors, going to run 3 with t fitting and controls for flow.

was wondering if i would have to gravity feed some how or at least do like rena filters and have a prime hole at top of stand pipe and fill it with water cap it off then turn on pump?

Pretty sure you have to prime it.  Might be wrong, but I was pretty sure you had to.

this was my understanding as well... Once it is primed, I would expect you to be fine.
