Hi all, I hope everyone is recovering well from the auction. I am wondering what assassin snails are like in a tank. Are they fairly hardy guys or must there always be food lying around for them? Also, since i have a rimless/topless tank, do they have a tendency to climb out or are they water dwellers and never leave?

Mine come out when I feed since they have destroyed every other snail in my tank, and esp when there is food that makes it to the bottom. I assume that they are fully aquatic.  I can usually tell when I'm due for a water change because they all start to head for the top of the tank.  I'd be concerned about them in a tank with no top...
I haz reef tanks.

I have a rimless tank, and mine have never tried to leave the water.

Mine don't climb out either.

I keep them fairly well supplied with pond snails from the big tank, but they also eat any fishfood that falls to the bottom.

Great to know, now if any one of the lucky people who won the Assassin snails at the auction would like to give me a couple that'd be awesome...
