Ovals meetings on Monday??

I would love to join Ovas, your meetings are on Monday though

It's too bad they weren't on Sunday instead, now then I could go.
Or Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday, or Friday. Even Saturday would be good.
You would get a lot more people if the Ovas meetings were earlier, some people use the busses and no ones going to bus it back after 7pm, not in that area.

You don't have to go to all the meetings to join ovas. You can sign up to the club without that. There are often breakfast meetings son Saturday mornings also certain people get together at a restaurant.

OVAS is a member of the Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs. The club was established in 1952. OVAS is a non-profit, educational and recreational organization.

OVAS have four main objectives:
-to further the study of all forms of aquatic life,  
-to promote interest, exchange ideas and distribute information concerning the hobby,  
-to encourage breeding and displaying of aquatic life
-and to work toward the conservation of endangered species. 

OVAS has evolved as a leading resource for the aquarium hobby in the Ottawa region.

OVAS also offers free access to our on line community www.ovas.ca. This community is a very active and informative web site with local, Canadian and International users. The website is a publication of the club where you can get further details about the club, ask questions and learn about the hobby.

Ovas club membership has many benifits:
-Put back to the community and the whole nonprofit vision of OVAS
-Meetings and social interaction (Not just formal meetings)
-Free snacks and pizza at meetings (There is a  charge for non club members for pizza nights)
-The Ovas Library access
-Amazing guest speakers (Some very well known!)
-Workshops and DIY Expertise
-Gallery
-%10 off from supporting vendors (If you are buying a lot of stuff at the sponsors this can easily pay for your membership)
-Ability to post stuff for sale in Ovas Club Member only. Currently it is the Non-ish related classified section and as of Sept 1sy will be everything.
-The Ovas BBQ for end of season is free for Ovas Club Members and there family. This alone can pay for your membership if its a family of 4!
-Garage Sales table rentals (First table free for Club Members)
-Ovas Auction % back to ovas is less for members
-Etc... I'm sure we can think of a lot more things lets increase the list and focus on the positive rather than complain about something you can't change.

Hi Shannon333, thanks for posting this, just over a year ago the then Exec posted a survey & surprisingly to me the day of the meeting was one of the least problems .

as mentioned, i plan on re igniting the once a month Saturday breakfast gathering if the interest is there, it was a great opportunity to get together with fellow hobbyist have a meal & share hobby experiences.
