Who says fish are quiet?

I have a 10g on my desk with 2 convicts, small experiment to show the kids what fish do.  She is making a nest and every few seconds I can hear her spitting gravel against the glass.  :lol:

Hard working woman, for about an 8" section at the front of the tank the gravel is 1" deeper.

My clown loaches make loud clicking noises when they nibble at the sinking pellets I give them.

I've got some Red Empress and Lithobates that, while being held in a temporary 30gal tank, would sit and watch me until I moved suddenly.  Then they'd go flying in all directions and bash into the sides of the tank making loud "thud" noises.  Funny thing is, it didn't matter if I was actually near the tank or not

My Cobalt blues also regularly spit gravel against the glass.
