Hey all,

I have recently picked up a couple of Bolivian Rams from a LFS and requested a male and a female. I have had some trouble sexing them. They do not seem to be friends so I am assuming that I got either two males or two females. The tank is divided in half and they peck at each other when they stray into the wrong half. It would be cool to have a breeding pair so I would eventually like to get a male/female.

Also if anyone has any tips on breeding bolivian rams I would be interested to hear them and if it can be done in a community tank. I am currently trying to get the PH closer to 7 in preparation.

NO idea!  But maybe this 'bump' will bring someone else to the thread!

Great pictures though... so clear.

It look like you do have a pair. Check out the link below for your own confirmation.

Thanks for the help! Which fish would you be inclined to say is the female and which is the male? Solely looking at breeding tubes I would guess that Ram #1 is a female but I'm not really sure on Ram #2.

I'm also new to breeding, if I have a pair does that mean that they will get along? Or that some fish are just incompatible? They don't seem to tolerate being close to each other and will peck the other away on sight.
