Hello,

I have a molly that's about six months old.  Yesterday I noticed that one of her eyes is really swollen, and around her mouth is all red, like the blood has come up to the surface.  I gave her a salt dip, and I'm treating the tank with Melafix.  Does anyone have any idea what would cause this?  None of my other fish are showing similar symptoms.

Thank you,
Vicki

Sorry, cant really help you.
But I've also noticed that one of my fish has a swollen spot on her side. It seemed to show signs of healing, but now it seems more redish. Should I be placing it in a salt dip? Does this actually prevent infection?

Thanks

From what I've read it can help reduce infection.  I've seen it work with a fish that was bloated.
