cichlids

have never had cichlids before. would like to start. have 35 gallon aquarium. do i need to get rid of other fish? couple of swords, and guppies. two small cory's. i large 3 inch red tailed shark.

well, where to start? research would be a good thing as there are hundreds of different types from around the world ranging from dwarf cichlids to monsters.
do you want to pick malawi, victoria, tangs, west african, south american, hard water, soft water?

as you stand right now, IMO, you could get a pair of Kribs and add them to what you have, they are a good starter, pretty easy to breed and dont require really specific water conditions, but as with all fish quality of water is paramount.

at the end of the day it's down to what you are looking to create, you have to narrow down your focus to the type then more help can be given  :D
