Now confirmed for our club meeting on January 27
Speaker: Gary Elson
Topic: Where it began - exploring wild livebearers

Gary Elson is a writer and teacher from Montreal. He has kept fish since even cars had fins, and has specialized in a number of fish groups over the years. He's an ex-contributing editor and monthly columnist for  Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine, and co-author of several aquarium books. His articles in fish have been published in more languages than he can speak, and in more countries than he's managed to visit.

Here are some links to some of the books that Gary has co-authored:

This should be awesome! Gary is a pretty cool guy - I'll try my best to attend!
Born-again Aquatic Hobbyist with interest in planted nano tanks and Killifish!

Unfortunately, due to the closing of the 417 near Vankleek Hill and treacherous road conditions, Gary will not be able to make it tonight.

In Gary's place, Stephanie and Jonathan Herstead will be doing a presentation on their Do-it-Yourself LED lighting system - good for reef or planted tanks.

So, it's still "game on" - hope to see you tonight!

Yes, sorry everybody - I checked the road conditions for both provinces on the route, and everything was okay when I left work. I made it to Herb's Truck Stop along the 417, but the road had been closed heading west. The road wasn't the greatest, but I suspect the trucks were getting knocked around by the high winds and sliding on the ice. No one knew the straight story, but there were rumours of jack-knifed trucks all the way past St Isidore.

I'll put away the fish I was bringing and hope to see everyone another month.

I tried!
