I shot this about 18 months ago. Give folks an idea how wonderful morays can be as tank residents.

Amazing! I've always wanted an eel but seems like a lot of work and id be too worried about other, smaller, fish.

Hi Bruce, every 4 days. What's neat about them is they can go 7 weeks without food. By feeding them every 4 days, I have never lost a fish. If I tried to feed within the next 2 days, they won't take the food, at least not to eat. They kinda play with it and then let it go.
I change it up and feed them bulk from TnT here in Ottawa. Cost about $4 a week for all of them. They get Pacific white shrimp, bulk squid and baby Octopus. Their clear favourite is the Octopus.

If fed every 4 days, no problems. They have very poor eye sight and I find them to be even lazier than my malamute! In other words, well fed, they don't bother to expend the energy hunting. I've seen my Damsels actual "hit" the eels when they get close to each other, I don't believe they even notice!
Morays make a wonderful addition to any non reef tank, they are a bit more work in the beginning as you must offer food close to them. After awhile though, they swim to the top to be fed.
When I place my hand in the tank for maintenance, several of my Zebras will nudge my hand, kinda like a dog does when looking to be petted. To me, they are special and gentle once they get to know you.
I plan on going to a 300G next year to accommodate their growth. I also plan on adding a Hawaiian Dragon when I do.

Wow, that's so awesome.  Nice to see that you're dedicated to providing them a great environment and that you get so much pleasure from them.  I'd love to have one someday...
I haz reef tanks.
