Iceman

I've got a Pineapple Swordtail who is listless. There no signs of injury, or any illness other than lack of movement. He did come up during feeding and made a feeble effort to eat. He seems to be having a hard time getting to the upper section of the tank where he normally swims. He'll makes a valiant effort to go up then kinda drops down slowly and hovers a couple inches from the bottom. He's not rolling over but seems to be using his whole body to swim rather just his fins. Rocking back and forth to get some movement.  Any suggestions for treatment?

Mettle

My suggestions would be...

A good water change, salt, melafix. See what that does.

Iceman

Well I've already got the Melafix out, but how much salt per gallon?

Mettle

Generally for 'cure purposes' it is 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons I believe. But I always find that a bit much... I'm so arbitrary when I add salt.

Iceman

Too late. He died last night.
