Can anyone provide some good suggestions for substrate suppliers?

I bought some from Petcetra before they closed for my 30g. It's borderline between coarse sand and fine gravel (about 1-2 mm average diameter), with a nice coloration (both light and dark brown with some black). Now I'm in the process of setting up my 90g, and would like something similar for it (obviously can't go back to Petcetra and I don't have the package anymore to check the brand).

I have checked Big Als', and they have sand (which I find too small) or the standard size gravel (which I find to big). The closest that I have found to the size I am looking for is the National Geographic stuff from Petsmart (a little bigger than I want but it's the closest that I can find).

Any suggestions for other places to look?

Thanks

I'm curious too, as we are looking to start up our shrimp tank and trying to determine what the best substrate would be and then if course where to get it :)

Check out Caribsea's Super Naturals line.  It seems like you would need the Peace River gravel.

Big Al's sells this brand of gravel.

Try Got Fish. They can get pretty much anything you want ordered in and the prices are very competitive.

If you're just looking for sand, you may want to consider using "playsand" from either Lowes or Home Depot. You can get a 40-50 lb bag for about $7-8 from what I remember I last paid. Lots of hobbyists use it and I have it in pretty well all my tanks and does what sand needs to do. It isn't as fine as some of the very fine sands that CaribSea has like Moonlight Sand but overall it works just fine.
King Playsand at HD is 20kg for under $6 and Quickcrete Playsand at Lowes 25kg for under $7.
Just wash and rinse well which you need to do with any sand but you don't need to pay over $1+/lb for sand that is being shipped across continents - you're just paying for shipping.
