So I'm building a new 30 gallon tank and have a vision in my head of a large driftwood centerpeice with java fern, moss's and anubius plants growing on it. I've looked at both big als locations and havent found the ideal peice of driftwood. I've found some that come close, but untill I exaust all options I wont spend money on almost.

The problem is I've found almost exactly what I had in mind at petsmart in a plastic (or some man made material) ornament.

My question is has anyone had success using man made ornaments instead of driftwood? Or where other then big als can you buy driftwood?

Critter Jungle also sells driftwood pieces
Mom of boys. Less drama than girls, but harder to keep alive

Can you post a pic or describe what you're looking for?  Maybe someone has seen something similar.

You could also try putting together some smaller pieces of driftwood to create the same effect.  I used two pieces here and came up with this.  My oto's like hanging out in the opening.

good idea. I hadn't thought of that.
