UV clarification/sterilization

Hi,
   Just looking for past/present experience with UV products...and suggestions. Have a 50 gallon and a 10 gallon. Considering UV transferrable between tanks with valved quick disconnects (ie. Colder) and flow meter so as to address algae and parasites. Has anyone had the same ideas/desires?
