Chloramine removal through carbon filter?

I am considering installing a whole house carbon filter at the main water entry of the house to filter out chloramine and other impurities (I basically see it as a huge Britt filter ).

Has anybody done this? Does it indeed allow you to use this water straight for water changes without having to use dechlorinator, prime or other?

Hi Eleonor,
   So I haven't used it myself, but I asked a guy I know in Toronto about it.
He said that there is a special carbon block you need to use to remove chloramines, but with that you would be good to go. Pentax Chlorplus if he remembers correctly.
