I'm about to setup a pc near my tank.
Going to add a probe from my MB from radioshack...

This way i can monitor my tank temp.. he he he

Yet as i thought of that was also thinking maybe there is
sutch a device that has probes that monitor
PPM
Temp.
Nitrate
CO2 and PH??

Somthing that connects to either a game port or a USB port.

I'm willing to make it if it's cheaper... all i need is diagrams
i've got all my saulder ready he he he...

I keep track of my tank with a ReefFanatic constant Ph monitor and an elecronic meat thermometer (the wired proble is in the water of course).  Both meters, particularly the Ph monitor, are extremely accurate.  I also document all my tank activities such as equipment/maintenance costs, water quality readings, livestock, health/treatment etc.  The program I use is the licensed version of Infinity Software's ReefConPro.  What you may be interested in is the "X10" feature which allows you to use your PC as your tank controller/doser/feeder etc..  I've never used it so I don't know exactly how it works.  I agree that it's likely an expensive venture, although the software is very reasonable.  You can download the demo version on their web site.

What i want to do is make it cheap i mean by very cheap cause i'm not worried in making my own...

I can retro fit a tempuire gage to my pc and monitor it from there.

All is really needed is to find 2 other probes 1 ppm and other PH.

Just need to either interface it with either a game port or a USB port that can be programmed Via C++.

Can be a cheap a project.

Was also thinking of grabbing 2 hand held meeters to dismantle
then to some how interface it with the pc.
