I overheard a few members at the last meeting saying that they feed their cichlids frozen peas.  Dumb question here - are they put in the tank frozen or defrosted first?

Defrosted, and the skin removed.

Actually I give them the peas frozen and with the peel on , I don't have any problems, I just don't have the patience to peel all those little peas!!!
Please let me know if this can cause some problems with my fish. Thanks LYnn

I have sent you a couple more PM's, you still aren't recieving them?

Can you email me at

Thanks a lot

PS: Sorry to impose on the thread, not meaning to take over :).

Lynn, just squeeze the peas, and they should pop right out of the skins. No actual "peeling" needed!

Thanks, that doesn't sound like alot of work. Lynn

If the fish can eat the peas with the shell on then it shouldn't be a problem.  Smaller fish have a tough time getting thru the peel.

Make sure you don't delete the PM's from your outbox.  If you do you are deleting them before the recipient has seen them.
