I do have a big filter.  Water from sump tank goes through the filter before it enter to tanks. It's next to sump tank.  Also, I have sponge filters for each tanks.

I have made a DIY canister filter for my pond, its realy easy. I went got some coton stuff for pillows, lava rock for the barbeque, and one of the big BA's blue sponges. I got two 5gal+ buckets. then drilled two holes in the top of the buket and on at the botom on the side. then i put tubes in the holes put the extra screen from our screen door, on the botom one. filled the botom up with lava rocks, and the top cuple of inches with filter floss, started a siphon with the two top tubes, hooked up the pump on the botom one and there you go a DIY canister filter.
