Is it simply regular latex paint? Has anyone done it before?

I've done it before, you have to use oil base paint, latex is too easy to scratch

Sorry for hijacking, but the other question is how to remove this paint?!
I got a tank that already been painet and I cannot get rid of this paint!

Putting on paint actually requires epoxy, and chemically very clean glass. you could use latex if you want, but adhesion is low, and as sylvain said, it scratches very easily, and if the glass isn't cleaned well with lighter fluid or the like, when you scratch it, it can come off in sheets. Oil paint is one better, but again the glass must be cleaned.

Removing paint is tedious, but if you're patient, a good set of straight razor blades is the best way to remove paint, and silicone and gunk and whatever else you've smeared on the glass.

Good luck to both of you, and don't paint the fish.

Or you can use Window Tint. Very easy to put on and take off.
