I found these while browsing the net, thought maybe there would be people here interested in these.

Wow. That first one with the cave system was amazing! I love the look of that and think it's fantastic. I didn't read through the entire article, but am definitely going to... It looks STELLAR.

Could make catching fish VERY hard though, heh.

lol thats why If it was me I'd put a few airlines in each one, so that if that did come to be a problem, give it some air and they might come out.

My suggestion is to keep the back of the tank clear, you never know what you might find in there, fry, dead fish, etc.

But if you have a good reputation for taking care of fish, and havent had any die in long time from unnatural causes, i'd say go for it. No one says it HAS to that many caves mind u, mabe if u can get smart, i'd do something like that but use really big pvc pipe for an actual cave, like ones u see in mountains kinda thing.

The article notes that the background is HUNG from the side of the tank, not attached. Just cut the zipties that it's hung with, and lift it out.

Great idea!

I was thinking more about this last night. The zipties seem awkward and a lot of work to cut them every time you want to yank the structure out. I'm sure something more accessible could be rigged where the structure could slide in and out making for easier access.

A lot of work? I don't know about you but I have cut a lot of zip ties before, and never took me more than 2 secounds for one. you just need to use pliers with the blades at the end.

Anyone else interested here are another couple of great places for DIY projects (Aquaria related).

And then you have to haul them out, and seeing as they're held in place by the ties, they may fall forward. Then you have to re-attach ties afterwards. And it would be annoying, to me anyway, to have to keep a supply of them on hand any time I wanted to haul out that section. Not to mention you're drilling into your tank to make the holes.
