Hi everyone,

I have a three year old male discus who's been courted (and of course he said yes ;) by one of my baby girls who I purchased as a young toonie size baby back in January (making her about 6.5 to 7.5 months old at most !!!).  She was purchased at the same time as 5 other babies the same size and she's at par with the others in size (a good 3 inches not including the tail).  She only laided 3 eggs last night which the male "fertilized", both fanned the eggs but it was evident, and quite a relief ;), that they were not viable so they were eaten earlier this morning.

I feed a mixture of Hikari bloodworms, Hikari mysis shrimp, flakes and pellet (nothing has hormones in it).  I used to feed them beefheart too before I ran out ;)  Must make a new batch.

I haven't heard of this before but thought I'd ask the Discus keeping folks on the forum if they had?  Also, I'm wondering if I should move the male to my other tank if they start a spawning routine (every week or so) to prevent the little one from expending energy needed to grow?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Dom
