Well boyz and ghoules...

I have searched high and low for a good Driftwood document on the site yet came up short of not finding propper info..

Here is da scoop.

I was able to pick up this fantastic piece of drift wood from lac Huron or was it superior.

Any how it's a nice large piece that has even grown to a few heavy flat rocks, very unique piece.

I had to cut a piece for it to fit in my tank yet have not taken the plunge yet in putting it in.

As i was cutting it i can tell it was submerged for a very long time
Yet i could smell a strong pine smell to it as i was cutting it.

What is the propper way to really get it clean in a fast time frame?
Let's say 3 to 4 days tops?

Piece is soo huge i can't just put it in a bucket i need to put this in my tub to treat it.

Here is what i was thinking of doing.

step 1.

poor aquarium salt at bottom of tub.

Step 2.

Boil a ton of water and poor it in the tub.

Step 3.

scrub down the driftwood to clean it.

step 4.

Drain watter only 24 houres later.
re-fill with fresh un-treated watter.

step 5.
once again drian watter 24 houres later.
re-fill with treated none clorinated watter.

step 6.
repeat step 5.

step 7.
put in tank and keep watch on ph balance.

what i'm asking if this is a good methode?
any one have a better idea?
