ok so i found a used 10G tank at a friends house
i took it for free but on its trip home i cracked the glass...oops

i know a 10G is cheap to buy and not worth repairing but all that aside how would i go about fixing it

the crack runs from top to bottom

i don't care how ugly the tank looks as long as i can get it to hold water

suggestions?

You could dismantle the tank and rebuild it with a new piece of glass and aquarium grade silicone.  Lots of ressources on the net to learn how...

I cannot tell about glass, but as for silicone - the cheapest one I found is Canadian Tire Mastercraft silicone (green tube). It is aquarium safe, just be careful they have different colors.

buying a new 10 gallon for 14$ would be easier then going through all the trouble of repairing that one imo..for a larger tank it's different  but you'll probly spend almost as much to fix that one and have to put in alot of time

to fix a small tank like that I'd get a piece of glass slightly smaller than the one that broke, and insert it inside the tank without removing the old piece. Just silicone the new piece in its place.

(that assumes there are no shards or whatever)
