glo-fish?

i just read about them... wierd....

sea anemone genes injected into zebra dano embyros?? neat and wierd..

any how anyone ever see the type of fish or is it banned?

also i read if toxic substances is present then it glo's.. so i guess if your waters fine they don't?

I believe they have been banned in the US... not sure about up here yet though

I tried to get some but apparently they r now banned in canada...they were expensive too 17 bucks a fish!!

I take issue with "naturalists" who condemn people for stocking/buying this fish, and then go to the grocery store and buy untold products that are, in fact, GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms).

Frankly, I would never buy them, just because I'm no fan of danios...

P.S. - The fish always glow.  They were trying to get one that would only glow in the presence of toxins... but the retail ones are "always on" glowfish

Im sure most naturalists would also avoid GMO products if they where properly labeled as such.

The thing that keeps me from being a fan of glowfish is the same that would keep me from GMOs - they are both alien to our environment.
