boy your sure jumping in... did you pick up some books yet? you should pick up books on the spieces your looking for.. get the proper set up for them..

slow and steady is the way in this hobby..

Are the Tanganyikans for the same 35g Hex as the discus? If so, sorry, it won't work, as Discus like soft acidic water, and the Tangs like just the opposite, hard, alkaline water. Not to mention that the Tangs will probably chase and nip the Discus unmercifully.

Well actually, i am just seeing if people have both, and what kinds they have, and if they do, all decide witch ones i like, but does anyone have any?

What you need to do is buy books... Please do..  then decide on what you want then set up your tank accordingly..

test your water see what its at... and see which is easier to attain.. (PH wise)

cause a 35gal hex is not a big tank.. very little surface area..  i would never put discus in it either personally..

im not trying to be a ass... but the books really help.. and take the time to read them and prepare..

I have both discus and Lake Tanganyikans, and Malawians, and South Americans, Catfish, Plecos, shoaling fish from Asia and South America, Saltwater fish, Puffer fish.........

I agree with Marx, books are great, as is research online thru forums like this and others.

Ok-  what fish would you consider puting in my tank
???

there are tons of fish to put in it.. just read up on what type of fish you want.. noone can make the choice for you.. you need to set it up the way you want.. to be happy with it..

just take your time.. i've been trying to set up my 75 gal for 3 months now lol.. and today i will start landscaping and adding water..

i've decide to go blackwater / planted tank..  so i found out whats involved with it..

and its time to go ahead with it!!

dandaman

Well you see, i understand that looking in books about cichlids is a good idea, but i already own a long 33 g tank with mallawi cichlids in it, so i know how to take kare of them.

even malawi cichlids are recommended to be in nothing smaller then a 50-55 gallon
