Went to my very first OVAS meeting tonight.
It was nice putting faces to some of the names I see here.
Also, now I know when I'll buy anything new, I'll wait for an auction.
I will be going to more meetings, only next time I'll bring some money with me.
GREAT DEALS!!!!!

Busdriver aka Terry
Like PFG says "I miss this place and all the people associated with it."

fishycanuck

Hey, Terry, it was nice to meet you, too!
My son didn't seem too unhappy with his "take" from the sale of his decorations, and understood that his not-very-gold goldfish had found a new home without money changing hands - and I am delighted with my new fish! Thank you Sue, Jody/Bree and Lloyed!

Shouganai

Great meeting.  Was kinda cool to have nametags now! :)  It was super busy though, almost need a bigger room!

Kennyman, Celes the crested gecko thanks you for her soon to be new digs!

It was interesting to see how much has changed in the almost 15 years since I last was at an OVAS meeting.  I saw two faces that I recognised from the "good ole days".

Things are alittle more high tech now, and there are ALOT more younger people in the club, which is really nice to see.

The auction was a blast, I bought way too many plants but I love aquatic plants.

Nice to put some faces to some of the names I talk to.

Unofficial OVAS meeting attendance record was set tonight at 101 people!!!!

PaleoFishGirl

Thanks for coming, everybody! What a riot (well, not even close, but it was fun).

I think the nametags are an excellent idea - busdriver, I saw you but didn't get a chance to say hi (so... hi!).

Teresa, good luck finding a place for all of those plants :) Come back next time, I'm sure there will be lots more :D

And now, bedtime... yes!!!

kennyman

She is a very prety gecko! Im glad Celes found a home tonight.

It's over an hour drive for me to get there but each time a manage an Ovas meeting I have alot of fun. I wish I could attend every meeting. It is a wonder club to be a part of  :)

artw

Wow, what a great meeting, certainly our largest one since I've been in the Club (circa 1999)   with 175 items in the Auction, it was a success as well.
I didn't really have any time to socialize or meet anyone :(  because I sort of have to set up the auction, hehe,  maybe next time I'll make the rounds and meet a bunch of you's that I see on here every day.

bitterman

It was my second metting and I too thought it was nice to put faces to names. See I'm really not a Bitter Man.

Wow did those Spencer Jack fish look nice, and the free bees for auction shure got a good price!!

Nice to see you all,
           Bruce

PaleoFishGirl

No, Bruce, you aren't Bitter at all :) It was nice to finally meet you :D

So, if I hand out nametags next time too, noone's going to kill me?  :D
It was great to see so many people come out, I'll make more cookies next time!  Oh, and have the coffee ready on time (although I cannot promise it will be good  ::) ).
Tanks: salty nano cube, working on a fresh 125

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I love the nametags.  I met at least 10 new people that I already "knew" last night :)

thats pretty funny. i was looking around at all the people, and then saw a sign that said, max # of people=70 and i thought we had way more then that the name tangs were great! really good way to find people that you normally would of never known, like bitterman

roxydog don't forget to bring juice next time too.

Sue

I was happy to see the younger crowd increasing in numbers. The little boy running back and forth to buy stuff was just too cute! I bet he slept well last night.

dpatte

im sorry i missed it - it seems my spanish class got scheduled on MOndays! Dooh!

I hope people enjoy the javamoss, hygro, and hornwort, and najas grass that paleo and artw helped be package up in advance.

HINT: they all do best in the mid 70s. 80s will wipe them out. even lake malawi is not above 80F - ask art!

GlaziersDaughter

That little boy passed out in the car on the way home. He is very much looking forward to mommy setting up his very own fish tank for him on his dresser in his room.

Seems that in the Glazier family we are on 3rd generation now of fishy folks.
