I've had a crowntail betta for about 6 months now in my community tank, with an angelfish, mollies, guppies, neon tetras and a pleco.  He's been happy as a clam.  I recently added 3 cherry barbs and 2 skunk botias and noticed the other day that his fins were sheared about 1/2 inch shorter.  I called lfs and was told either the barbs or the botias could have done it, so I quickly scooped them out and returned them to lfs.  Will his fins grow back?

I would give the tank a prophylactic dose of Melafix... and keep a good eye on the fins for infection!
** I did not look carefully at your tank population, make sure they can all tolerate whatever med you use.
