both german blue rams are covered with ich...  damit it must of happened over night..

ridich (or ich cure) or anything with formalin and a green or blue die works for me.

ignore the instructions. add the drops days 1,2,3 then every 3rd day until the fish have been clear 10 days.

is it plant safe?

i have stuff called quick cure..

Rid Ich (methylene blue/formalin) is pretty well plant safe;  the edges of the plants do suffer a tad.

Salt and heat.

1 TBSP salt per 5g, raise the heat to 85, and keep the heat up for at least 10 days after the last ich spot has disappeared from the fish.

Table salt, Pickling Salt, Kosher salt, and even the pricy "aquarium salt" is OK to use in this teeny amount.

Waterchanges are also good, with vigorous gravel vacs to get rid of the tomites in the gravel. just remember to only re-add the percentage of salt that you've removed with the waterchange, and to never add it when topping off a tank (not a good practice, anyways).

I've used this in HEAVILY planted tanks, and the plants are fine, as are the fish, including "sensitive" fish such as plecs, fancy plecs, cories, silver coloured tetras, discus, loaches (clown and YoYo).

Raise the temperature in the tank to 85F (make sure you have an accurate thermometer) for 10 days. Another treatment is the addition of Maracide by Mardel daily for five days as directed.

Personally I invoke both procedures preferring 86F for 12 days in addition to Maracide every second day for ten days. Neither Maracide nor the temperature has hurt any of my plants to date.

I seriously doubt that any other medications are plant safe.

its gone off fish now.. will treat for 2 more days then do water change and vaccum substrate!!

i found that ich cure and ridich affect some sttem plants (hornwort for example) but most bradleaf plants do not seem to be affected adversely by using it
