Holy crap, tap water pH

Is anyone else's tap water testing at 10+?
It used to be pretty high, 8.5, but now it's over 10.  What the heck?

what test did you use ? PHMeter (well calibrated), or something else ?

I used the tetra liquid testing kit... it's accurate.  My strips say the same thing, too.
We had water problems in our apartment this week, hoping that's the problem and that it'll be okay soon.

My testing kit only goes up to a pH of 9, and we have been there for quite some time, more than a year that I recall. However, I suspect that it wasn't necessarily as high as the pH might actually be, I just had no test for it. I'm curious Zoe, are you still pulling these high numbers?

I forgot to mention, are you testing the water straight from the flow, and do you test a batch left overnight to see what the drop may be?

mine is 9.4 in St Laurent area....
it's killing my lemon tree!!! I've got to find a ph down for trees lol my tree wants a ph of 6.5 or lower...my africans are fine, but the tree not so good!

I've had about 9.4 since we moved here last year, our last house had 7.2

Nerine, you must be on the same water as me as I am in the St Laurent area also.

My tap water pH is all over the place. The other day it was 6.5, now its back up to 9.  Yeesh.  My pH test isn't going to last very long at this rate.

Mine changes alot. Sometimes its as low as 6.2, lately its up in the 9.3-9.6 range. Annoying? Yes.

so far mine has been pretty stable...at least last time I tested from the tap!

I think I'll do the 24 hour test again ...my tree is looking pretty yuck lol
