That is just crazy how the hell does the water stay in and how does the fish swim at such and angle.

I'm not sure how the fishies navigate through it but the reason it works is due to simple physics. It works on the same principle as a carpenter's water level except upside-down. As long as the tanks at each end of the 'bridge' are on the same basic plane, the level of water in them will be exactly the same. In order for water to drain out of the system anywhere, there would have to be a breach to let air in. There is another similar but simpler system out there made out of clear PVC. It's also the same principle that my ATO operates on. Check out the bridge at this link.

Crazy stuff makes me want to try it.  That being said the link between two tanks is much simpler the one between a bunch of tanks all over the house.

True, but they both work for the same reason. I have enough trouble keeping regular tanks clean. Either of those would be a nightmare.
