Hello everyone, i've got a 35 hex with 2 discus, 1 moonlight gourami, 1 dwarf gourami and 9 small tetras.(rummy nose-red eye)

I also have a very lonely betta in a half gallon plastic tank.
Was wondering if i could add him to my tank?
any coments,
thanks

The only one problem you may have is that bettas are not very fast swimmers.
When I put mine into community tank with tiger barbs and kribs, he had bad time at first, but in a week he got his upper level of the tank and feels fine since. I cannot say for your gouramis. I have two-spot one and I never saw any confrontation. But yours could be smaller and could be attacked by betta.

I think the betta may hassle the gourami too, but I'm truly not sure.
The bettas long fins are very tempting for many fish.
Give the betta some live plants to play in and he'll be fine by himself.

I would suggest not putting him in any fish that has nicer colouration will be a target for the betta and any smaller fish I find Love nipping the fins off bettas...try puttin some Lilly pads in the top of your half gallon he will love those I have mine in a 2 gallon and he loves the long roots...got them at the last OVAS meeting and apparently they do well in very low light!! When he sees them he will be up in the roots all the time!!
