I have a rainbow shark that has become best friends with my 8 clown loaches, so much so that I call him my false clown these days.  He hangs out and eats with them, his behaviour has changed from chasing my two SAE all the time to being more laid back like the clowns, heck I have even caught him hidding with them sleeping on his side.

Anybody else have stories of fish mimicking another species in their tank?

I have a rainbow shark too, and that sounds great. Mine hangs with my Kribensis, they are best buds!

My mollie kept trying to breed with my australian rainbow, and now that he's gone the mollie is going after the pearl gourami.  ::)

About a year back, we had one of our German rams intent on breeding with one of our discus, those two really loved each other as only fish can.

more recently, one of our otocinclis has been hiding in amongst the throng of trifasciatus (pencilfish) to avoid the attention of a much larger fish who seems to think the poor oto lolls around all day.

And JF our lovely port acara was best buds with a large pleco at Mila's, and the poor pleco has been pining away like a lovesick puppy ever since he left, while JF hangs with some keyholes and festivum like family now.
