Freshwater Moray (Marbled) Eels

Does anyone know anything about these guys? I thought I knew alot about eels - but I am learning that what I did know does not apply to these guys.....any info would be appreciated.

May not be accurate, but I thought they could withstand freshwater for a period of time when they are younger but will need salt-water later on in life.  I could be completely wrong.

They REALLY need minimally brackish water.  They can SURVIVE in fresh but it shortens their lifespan and they really aren't happy in it.

But they ARE REALLY COOL !!!
