Tanks: salty nano cube, working on a fresh 125

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I like the makeshift overflow ... I'll have to steal that idea when I get around to setting up a nano. :P

Is that just tape holding the acrylic in place while the glue sets?  Did you use epoxy or silicone?  Any room for a skimmer?

I'm looking at getting one of these tanks.

The tape is for a cleaner silicone job. You lay down the silicone, then smooth it out and remove the tape while it's still wet.

Not sure about room for a skimmer. You dont really "need" one. I mean it's so easy to do 50% water changes /week.

What are those things called for the overflow.....and where did you get them?  I see the bulkhead thing..and it's threaded on the inside too right?

My idea was to cut out the back of the canopy a little and add a small external canister filter for carbon/phosphate remover and then the outflow from the canister would serve as an additional water circulation source.

I cut some eggcrate to size and spray painted it back and clued it in to hold up filter floss and crabon. I will change the floss every 2days.

What size of tank is this one and do you need a skimmer for it?

It's a 12" cube with bow front at 7.4g

In my opinion, no skimmer is required.  It's so easy to do a 50% water change so I dont think I need one.

I am just going to add a shrimp and 2 small fish so the bio load will be small.

did you get it from pat?
i should have got more of that, he had a few pieces and i got 2 or 3 i think.

artw

I am seeing Pat tonight groan, maybe I can pick up some pieces for you?

beowulf

I got the one at the auction and wish I would have thought of the setup you have.  How much space is lost in the tank with hidding everthing in behind that background?

groan

Art, nah, i have enough for now. i may add more later before i add in my first corals (if i get any).
Have phun!
