I got the one at the auction and wish I would have thought of the setup you have.  How much space is lost in the tank with hidding everthing in behind that background?

There is 2.5" lost in depth.

where did you buy all the bulkhead stuff i wanna go do this so badly now...its such a nice clean job...good work and i love that rock its so sick!

OK! I love your plan and I want to do this for myself!
I need to ask a couple questions though....1) how much, and how often does the water flow into your overflow area? 2) Is your mini jet in the water or is it hanging outside the actual tank? 3) if not much water is in the overflow, how does your heater heat the front sections water? and lastly 4) is that white fibre your means of filtration or is the LR for that? and if so, why use the white fibre?

1) The water that flows over the overflow depends on how many gph the pump pushes. I have my minijet 606 running full tilt right now so maybe 100gph with headloss and the 90 degree elbow.

2) The minijet is underwater.

3) Thw water level is about 3" below the tank water level so there is plenty of water to heat. The heating coil is pretty small since its only a 50w heater so it will always be submerged.

4) The white fiber is called "filter floss". It's a good way to keep the water polished and clear but you need to replace it often.

Could I do this same set up with a 29 gal?

Tyler.L

yes but would need a bigger pump and bigger bulkhead etc..etc...
