My new light fixture does not have moonlights and I can't live without them  :D

I noticed a huge difference in quality in the LED lights in the Coralife Aqualight Pro 1w LED's compared to the Coralife Lunar light with 3/4w LED's.

The LED's used in the lunar light are PURE CRAP! They are more of a sky blue LED light and one burnt out after only 2 months.

if your looking for a pretty cool moonlight setup, check out the moontube led. little more expensive but its got its own tmers and dimmers. they have them for sale on ebay.

Yes I also think that Ebay will be your best bet

BigDaddy

Active Electronics on Merivale just south of Carling

Or if you are on the west side you may try Reset Electronics:

Shrimpy

There's also Gervais Electronics on Industrial Ave. They have way better prices than Active.

This might be a bit off hand..but Princess Auto on Hawthorne and ages drive
sometimes has surplus items........
I remember someone mentioning a while back about the success he had with
LCD lights from Princess and how he rewired them

Good suggestion actually, Princess Auto has always been the "other" aquarium equipment supply store, lots of goodies to be found, and of course they have a lot of cold cathode lights which are also very good for moonlights.

Alchemist

From the Forty Fathoms forum:  11.99 at Princess Auto for a strip of 12 blue LED lights.....then you'll need a transformer for them from something like an old cordless phone etc or from The Source Circuit City.

if they ship usps you shouldn't get duty charges

What about a group order from that ebay seller?  Split the shipping (and any fees) over a few people...I'd definitely be interested.

your kidding right?

UPS is the WORST for duty fee's. A minimum of 60$ per box of duty fee's no matter what the value of the item is. Been there done that. The only way to skip the fee's with UPS is to ship next day.

I will order the lights from ebay tonight but I will ask the seller to ship by USPS instead.

murgus

Actually he said USPS (United State Postal Service).  I've found them to be very reasonable in terms of duty/brokerage/whatnot but slow in in terms of delivery time.

Thx/Andrew

Your right,
