Hi,

I successfully breed salt water peppermint shrimp. I have one male and 2 female's peppermint shrimps. I bought theses shrimps couple of months ago from redbelly. This morning I notice there are more than 15 shrimp babies all over the tank. Now I decided not sell my salt water tank. :).

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Thats neat to hear!

I notice that there are more than 15 babies. Since there is no fish they are still alive.

Good for you Loyed.

Im am also trying it with coral banded. It has taken a couple of them but I now have a pair with eggs.
Do you know if shrimp will eat their young?

Jim,

I don't think that adult shrimp will eat the babies. Yesterday I watched them for few minutes and the babies go very close to the adults but they didn't do anything to babies. Once the lights goes off they are all over the tank.

My scunk cleaners do...
Besides fish, corals and inverts there is sump pump, powerheads and skimmer...
I ususally have tons every 3-4 weeks - they just floating like cloud around the parent and then after 2 days -nothing.
But sun coral looks happy :)

How are the babies doing loyed?
