I bought 200G worth of Instant Ocean salt and its really low in magnesium (1170).

The Kent liquid mag is pathetic. I used the whole bottle on my 120g total water volume and it raised it 80points. lol

Not sure about Ottawa, but try these guys to see if they will ship here. They are in Ajax.

I was also curious where the levels of magnesium are at with kent's sea salt. They don't seem to post this on the buckets.

Damn,

I think its time to switch salt brands.

Does Reef Crystals at least have decent parameters?

Can you use epsom salts?  That's magnesium sulphate!  I have no idea...just putting it out there!  Also check the commercial magnesium supplements as there is a chance that they might just be solutions of epsom salts.

I know that Merkley Supply sells calcium chloride for dust control. They may have magnesium chloride which is also used for dust control. The calcium chloride is definitely a flake product.

It is just called calcium chloride. Just ask for calcium chloride flake for dust control. I think it's about $20 for a 20 kg or so bag. I use it for dust control on the cottage road but I haven't bought any for a couple of years so I'm not sure of the size and price.
