Please excuse the very simple drawing, and yes, I did it, not my kids.

I bought some cories and got a couple of free fish in the bag.    Tiny little guys, long thin body types, extremely busy and fast swimmers.
Quite a bright blue eye when the light hits it, and red under the eye.
Otherwise fairly colourless, with a faint strip down the body.   Fins are almost clear with a shiny luminousity at the edges.
Any ideas?

Lampeye maybe?  I was trying to find a good picture but can't.  Here's a site: http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=9676
They would be killifish.  They have a long body shape.

I LOVE blue eyed fish - especially blue eyed rainbowfish but if there isn't colour or spots to their fins/tail I doubt it would be them. (pseudomugil furcatus - yellow tips and nice colour, pseudomugil gertrudae (spotted tails/dorsal) and signifers (yellowish fins/tail) also.

The p. furcatus at superpet were very tiny.  If I had a tank I would have bought them all!  Judging by your drawing though - the forked tail I would think furcatus also!  Lucky you!!!!!!  Here's a link: http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?what=fish&cur_lang=2&id=178

Where did you find them?

Yes SP Kanata.   Very cool little fish!   Can grow quite large, it is going to be fun watching them grow.  They are so small I thought they would be neon size when adult.   Hmmm it is tempting to go back and get some more - of both sexes!
