Hi, my daughters have a little fresh tank in their rooms.
The betta is in a 2.5 gallon, no filter or heater.  I'm wondering what temp you keep them at?
I was reading that it's not safe to put a heater in that small of a tank.
thanks

I believe they do make tiny little heaters that look like a credit card almost for small tanks like that.  It is not needed though if the ambient temp in the room can keep the betta in the 74-76 range which they are suppose to be most happy in.

Thanks, he's really funny and newly acquired.  The tank has no background except the dresser mirror so he's very entertained and nice colouring too.  I think my daughter has named him rainbow....

I've found that my bettas in unfiltered, unheated tanks lasted longer than the ones in regular tanks. Granted, there are many variables at play, but unless your house is sub-arctic, Rainbow should be just fine.
