Saying I am wrong, I need help, or I totally have no idea was a hard thing for me to admit. With maturity these admissions became easier for me. When I was younger there was no way I wanted anyone to know I was wrong or did not know everything. With that being said there is a difference between me being a cocky youth or being deceptive. What sort of foundation might my integrity have been built upon?

lol bunch of meanies. Was it just a kid trying to make a few bucks to help pay for books. For all we know she might be studying to be a nurse, lawyer, or better yet a Travel Agent!

I wrote a complaint last night to the petstore about this, and they replied promptly and most satisfactorily:

I have been made aware of the problem you had with one of our employees, and the false imformation staed by herself. I can assure you I am and will further deal with the problem immediately and gain approval from our head office to create a "No Crickets/Feeders" sign for your convenience as well. I will also have the employees undergo re-training in customer service and livestock (which is the animals and their food, housing and care. This problem will not arise again, and if it does please come to myself or a Jennifer Nixon, and we will deal witht he problemed employee with you. I apologise once again on behalf of the store, and I look forward to your business here.

A most interesting development, his spelling is atrocious, yet he makes a good point to correct an embarrassing situation which, of course, ultimately leads to confused and unhappy customers.

im only 15 and im trying to get a job at my LFS so that i can spread my knowledge. Hopefully they will accept and i can get a job there

One thing that occurs to me is that maybe the employee in this case doesn't care. I know when I am doing a job that I consider grossly underpaid it makes it hard to give a darn. I have no idea if the pay at this place is adequate or if the employee actually feels this way. I just know that I have had jobs that did not pay me enough to care. I consider it another case of you get what you pay for. For minimum wage you should not be surprised if you get minimum work and work ethics. If you want excellence or even adequate you should be prepared to pay for it.

Reminds me of some articles I just read on the 'entitlement' generation.  They are raised to think they are "special". 

I think she needs a raise  .  Especially if she can show that goldfish come from guppies

Sometimes you get some crazy ideas from the inernet that you think its true but it is not !!!

Or maybe she just made a mistake? I know its a foreign thought to most people, but it sometimes happens. Maybe fish isn't her real department and she's more used to hamsters and was covering the fish area for a sick coworker. Maybe she's been making an effort to learn more about fish and misread something amongst the glut of information available. And perhaps in this research she'll stumble across a local fish club that she thinks might be helpful, only to find that she's got her own thread to be targetted for public ridicule, and decides why bother trying to learn, and that she might as well quit since she's already had a complaint put in about her performance, by someone who wasn't even a customer of hers. But I know, none of us have ever made a really stupid mistake in our daily lives or jobs, so its ok for us to ridicule them.
