refugium question

I have an AC 70 was thinking about turining into a refugium, now my light is about 12" above my tank, would I need to light the refugium as well? or will my lights be sufficient?

I imagine you are planning on using some type of macro algae in your fuge (thus the light question)

I have chaeto growing in residual light (about 3 feet away from a 2 bulb shop light).  I think 12" away it would still grow without the aid of another light.  however higher light = higher growth (especially chaeto).

Im wondering too If I should seperately light my AC im turning into a fuge.... MH on my tank sit 8-12" and not directly over the fuge but very close. I'm using my AC as a attachment surface skimmer right now,but plan to turn it into fuge. I'm hoping my light will be fine, should be
