Pet Smart (first visit)

So I have never been to pet smart before (lived in england most my life so not that impressive) but they had an excellent cichlid area.
What was interesting is the staff where telling me that a Tiger Oscar would be ok for a 30G.  Seemed not so good advice.  What do others think the oscars min. tank size should be?

You might be able to start it in a 30g but it will quickly outgrow it and before long you will need a 100g+ tank to really make it happy.

Yeah I mean I can't target Pet Smart as it was some individuals in one of many stores.

Just I have been a fan of oscars and I was just thinking had I of started my fish hobby at Pet Smart I would have a very unhappy Oscar right now.

The amount of dead fish was insane.

Petsmart, in our opinion, has become pretty much a pet food store. They do carry the odd fish that Big Als doesn't, but we only go to Petsmart for something specific, like Clown Plecos or Mystery Snails.

Yeah true ... Big Al's does a decent job I was just curious as Big Al's is hard to get to at times for me.
