Hate buying unknown plants but Being Boxing Day with discounts worth the risk. I bought 2 of the plants shown below anyone know what they are?

Well until some of the Moss guys show up,   . . . . .  Looks a bit like the Christmas moss I have seen posted around here a few times.

I found a cool site that might help

http://www.aquamoss.net/

good luck dan  8)

hrrmmm so its a flowing plant? For aquarium plants with such small, lance shaped alternate leaves the only other suggestion I can come up with is Hemianthus micranthemoides

It is not a floating plant. It is not Pearl Weed either I have that plant in that tank actually. Bugging me I can't find the name...  >:(

Fishnut

Maybe look into swamp plants.  Perhaps it's not a true aquatic plant.

Laura

I think many of aquarium mosses we're used to don't grow submersed in the wild.  Fishnut got me thinking though that it looks more like a sphagnum moss.
Some plants are grown out of water and sold submersed - they end up with a different shape than we are accustomed to seeing.

Laura you are right on the money including the mosses. I've read you can even grow sidewalk moss in an aquarium - that's the moss you see on rocks and of course between our patio stones & sidewalks.

If you ever saw pics of the farms in Singapore where they grow aquarium plants they are all emersed.
