The Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society is pleased to have Mr . Tom Mason @ it`s Feb.23 rd meeting ( please note there will be no mini auction for Feb.), Tom will be doing a presentation on fish collection in Costa Rica ( this will include some reptiles also) titled "The fish of Cano Palma Tortuguero, Costa Rica".

Tom is a long time hobbyist who holds a BSC from  the University of Guelph, he has traveled and collected on 5 continents, lead tours for fish & reptile enthusiast to Costa Rica, worked on three recovery teams for endangered species in Ontario and if that`s not enough he has worked on conservation projects in Costa Rica & Cuba, Tom has been with the Toronto Zoo in excess of 23 years, so folks we are honored to have Tom take time out from his busy schedule to visit us.

Just a reminder of our meeting on Monday & our interesting journey to Costa Rica through the eyes of our guest speaker ( Tom Mason) , who BTW is a real trooper, Tom is currently a bit under the weather, but communicated to me he is still ploughing his way to Ottawa to be with us.See you all there on Monday.

It was a nice presentation about research in a rain forest and the diversity of the fauna in that region. I enjoyed it! Nice pics too! :)

Thanks Tom learned a lot very cool place. I was surprised of the few species of fish in Costa Rica. Charlie thanks as well great job lovin' your speakers!
